KARACHI: Department of International Relations organizes lecture on 'Pakistan and India Relations' at Federal Urdu University (Abdul Haq campus) here on Saturday.
According to the details event started with reciting the Holy Quran and Chairwoman of International Relations department Mrs. Saida Dawood gave little briefing on relation between Pakistan and India, whereas Dean of the university after expressing his views gave a warm welcomed to the Chief guest Ex- Indian Education Minister, Chairman of Political Science Department in Vikram University Bhopaal, Member of Lokh Sabha Assembly and Member of All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) Aziz Qureshi.
In his lecture on 'Pakistan and India relations' Aziz Qureshi expressing concern on the relation between Pakistan and India said that upcoming writers will pick up the pen and will blame the governments of Pakistan and India for the worst relations between two neighboring countries for recent crunch.
Aziz Qureshi said that it is the bad luck of both the countries that who ever raised the voice for peace has always faced a tough reaction.
The cost of one atom bomb is equal to the education cost of three lacs students and I personally wish both the countries should sink their atom bombs in deep sea.We must spread education, healthcare facilities, food, cloths and homes for our masses but unfortunately our governments are used to spend 70 percent of the budget on the war materials.
There are some problems like Kashmir and terrorism that are hurdle to continue the peace process. To boost the peace and love among our peoples we must have people to people contact, three months visa must be free for the peoples of both the countries he added.
The issue of occupied Jammu and Kashmir is able to be resolved over a night in Islamabad or in New Delhi but due to wrong policies of our governments, bureaucracy and forces have widen gaps, he further stated.
Answering to a question Abdul Aziz said that India also has Urdu University and our universities must sign accord to exchange the professors level delegations, which can boost more love and peace in one event than ten meeting of foreign secretaries.
In the last praising people of Pakistan Abdul Aziz promised to convey the message of Pakistanis to Indian government that the entire nation does not prefer war but wants peace and love.
