No proper waiting areas and sitting places in Lahore Railway Station

Today I went to railway station to pick someone up. It was so sad to see so many people waiting for trains in such miserable way. The travel fares rise every now and then but no proper investment is being made for the benefit of the passengers. Railway which should be a profitable business is advertised as a failure. Rise in fares yet not benefit for the passengers. Infact many trains have been stopped and overbooking is being done. People are being stuffed into the trains and are being over-charged. Worst, the porters charge as much as they like just because there are little facilities of carrying the luggage on your own. One porter said he'll take Rs. 300 just to put the luggage in the train. Thats near to the price of the ticket to Islamabad from Lahore!
